Are you celebrating or berating yourself? Have you continued the diet or exercise regime that seemed like a “good” idea or had you stopped by Blue Monday (17 January)?
New Year’s Resolutions are an interesting topic of conversation and I wonder if we are unconsciously setting ourselves up to fail or succeed and if so, why? What motivates us to move forward in the world in this way at a time when the days are shorter, darker and colder?
On New Year’s Eve it seemed perfectly plausible that for the rest of the year I will get up at 5am and set off for a run. I wonder if deep down we are giving ourselves these unrealistic expectations as distractions for something else and if so, what?
